Little Leaps are Big Leaps.

Leap of Faith

(Even the little leaps count)

This Saturday I will be hosting a book signing at my favorite little café, Sugar Leaf.

This is the pinnacle of me going all in on my very first dream of becoming an author.  I don’t expect it to be grand.  I’m not sure that I would be comfortable with something grand!  I am thankful, nonetheless.

LITTLE LEAPS MATTER

Throughout my pregnancy and post-partum period, and despite struggling with post-partum depression, I wrote three books.  The Love Journey was not particularly difficult for me to write, but I spent many hours praying over it, reading and re-reading. It is very important to me that when I work, I do good work.  Books always outlive the authors and I wanted to write something that someone could pick up 6o years from now and relate to.  This book was my little leap….and it was still scary.

WHAT IF I MISREPRESENT LOVE?

The what ifs crept in.

“What if no one understands it?”

“What if I spend all this time and do not sell a single copy?”

“What if I misrepresent love?”

I wrote anyway.  The desire to write is so strong inside of me that I do not feel fulfilled without it.  I have been writing my whole life and I have years’ worth of journals that no one will see.

GOD’S GIFTS ARE IRREVOCABLE

Romans 11:29 says that “The gifts and callings of God are without repentance.”  These gifts are absolutely given to us to share with those around us…to inspire, enlighten, edify, and challenge those in our sphere of influence.  Your gifts are also for you.  The gifts you have been given are interwoven into your heart’s desires. They help you to live a more satisfied and joyful life.

YOUR GIFTS REQUIRE FAITH

Your gifts still require faith.  I trust that this gift God has given me will be a blessing to someone else.  I trust that this gift isn’t wasted on me.  I trust that using my gifts will lead to spiritual and personal growth.  I trust that what God has given me will open new doors.

What about you?  What secret desires are knocking on the door of your heart?  What gifts have you been keeping under wraps?  Is it time for you to take a leap of faith?

Can you find the courage for a little leap?

LITTLE LEAPS MATTER

LEARNING TO TRUST GOD IS A LIFELONG JOURNEY

TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND DO NOT LEAN ON

YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING.  IN ALL YOUR WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM, AND HE WILL MAKE STRAIGHT YOUR PATHS.
